Terms of Use
Version 2.0 · Effective 28 October 2026 · Contact contact@kekere.online
These terms explain what Kekere is, what you can do on it, and what you agree to when you use it.
By creating an account or using Kekere you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What Kekere is
Kekere is an online marketplace that connects people who need work done (clients) with tradespeople who can do it (tradesmen). You can use Kekere as either, or both. What you are allowed to do depends on the action and the moment, not on a fixed account type.
Kekere provides the marketplace and messaging. Job payments are direct bank transfers between the client and the tradesman; Kekere does not collect, hold, process, release or refund job payments. Kekere does not perform, supervise, or guarantee any work. Every tradesman on Kekere is an independent person working for themselves. They are not employees, agents, or partners of Kekere.
2. Your account
- You need a valid email address and must verify it before you can sign in.
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract in Nigeria.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself.
- Certain actions require identity verification with your NIN (National Identification Number): placing bids, buying credits, and opening your wallet. If your verification does not pass, those actions stay closed until it does.
- We never display your full NIN. Only the last four digits are shown, and only to you.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, provides false information, or puts other users at risk.
- Password resets sign you out of every device.
One account per person. Do not share, sell, or lend your account.
3. Posting jobs
- When you post a job, describe the work honestly, including any hazards, access restrictions, and materials you are supplying.
- Your state and city are public on every job listing. Your exact address and coordinates are private, and are shared only with a tradesman you have hired, at your discretion.
- Your name and photo are hidden from the public job list. They are shown only to tradesmen you have hired, or who are bidding on your job.
- A posted job is open for bids. Editing a job after it is posted is not currently available; if the details are wrong, cancel and repost.
4. Bidding and credits
- Bids are an offer to do the work for a price. Bids are for labour only. Materials are arranged directly between you and the tradesman.
- The minimum bid is ₦100. A bid below that is rejected.
- Credits are Kekere's bidding currency. Placing a bid costs one credit.
- One credit costs ₦100, plus 7.5% VAT (Value Added Tax). You see the credits, the VAT, and the final total before you pay. The price is locked at the moment you continue to payment.
- You can buy between 1 and 10,000 credits at a time.
- A credit is spent when you submit a bid. Withdrawing or losing a bid does not return the credit.
- You may have only one pending bid per job. Bidding twice on the same job is rejected while your first bid is still pending.
- Accepting a bid closes the job to further bids.
5. Direct payment
Job payments are made directly from the client's bank account to the tradesman's bank account.
- A tradesman must add a payout account before bidding.
- When a bid is accepted, the tradesman's bank details are frozen on the job.
- After the work is completed, the client pays the accepted bid directly to that account.
- Kekere does not collect, hold, split, release or refund job payments.
- The client marks the payment as sent; the tradesman confirms receipt.
- If the tradesman does not confirm, the payment stays pending. Kekere does not confirm it automatically.
- No platform fee or VAT is added to job payments. Bidding credits keep their existing price and VAT.
- A bank transfer cannot be reversed by Kekere. Refunds are not guaranteed. See the Refund and Returns Policy.
- Pay only the account shown on the completed job. Do not pay an account sent in chat or before the work is done.
6. Messaging
- Chat is per job. There is one conversation between the two people involved, and it opens when a bid is accepted.
- You cannot message someone whose job you have not been hired for.
- No money moves inside chat. Job payment and disputes happen on the job screen. Never transfer money to someone who asks you to in chat, and never share your bank details or your one-time password (OTP) there.
- When a job ends, the conversation becomes read-only. The history is kept, and it can be used as evidence in a dispute.
- Keep it professional. Harassment, abuse, discrimination, spam, and scams are not allowed.
7. Disputes
- You can raise a dispute once work has started or the work has been marked complete.
- A dispute records the complaint for review. It does not pause or move money, and it does not create a right to a refund.
- Tell us what went wrong and add any photos you have. Chat history for the job is available to us as part of the review.
- Resolution is currently handled by a person on our team. We do not publish a resolution time.
- We may warn, flag or suspend a tradesman following review. Money already sent directly to a tradesman cannot be recovered by Kekere.
- Repeated or abusive disputes may lead to account suspension.
8. What you must not do
- Ask a client to pay outside the frozen bank account shown on the job, or ask for payment before the work is complete.
- Post jobs or bids that are fraudulent, misleading, or that you cannot honour.
- Share your account, your NIN, or your OTP with anyone.
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your skills, licences, or experience.
- Harvest other users' contact details to contact them off-platform.
- Interfere with the service, scrape it, or probe it for vulnerabilities.
- Post content you do not have the right to share.
- Use Kekere for anything illegal in Nigeria.
9. Your content
- Job photos, completion photos, and messages stay yours. You give Kekere a licence to store and display them as part of running the job, including to the other party and to us during a dispute.
- Photos carry an order, and galleries keep that order.
- We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
10. Fees, prices, and changes
- All amounts are in Nigerian Naira (₦) only. No other currency is accepted.
- Fees, credit prices, and VAT are shown to you before you commit to anything.
- We may change our fees going forward. Changes apply from the date they are posted and do not change a transaction that has already been agreed.
- Bidding credits are purchased through Paystack. Their terms apply to the credit checkout pages you are sent to. Job payments are direct bank transfers between users and are not processed by Kekere.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Kekere at any time. Account deletion is not currently available in the app; email us if you need an account closed and we will handle it.
Closing your account does not cancel jobs you are party to. Job payments already sent directly between users are not held by Kekere and cannot be reversed by closing an account.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Kekere is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or timing of work arranged between users.
- Kekere is not responsible for a tradesman not showing up, or a client not paying, beyond the dispute-record process described here. Job payments are direct bank transfers and are not held or guaranteed by Kekere.
- Kekere is not responsible for losses caused by users breaking these Terms.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid to Kekere in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute that is not resolved through our dispute process will be handled by the courts of Nigeria.
14. Contact and changes
- Contact: contact@kekere.online
- We may update these Terms. The version and effective date at the top of this document always reflect the current terms. Continuing to use Kekere after a change means you accept it.
